Al-Nassr switches to adidas
Cristiano Ronaldo's team will leave Nike after the many problems encountered last season
February 7th, 2024
Al-Nassr announces adidas as technical sponsor for the next three seasons. The Saudi Arabian club, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, will not renew its one-year contract with Nike and has opted for a direct competitor to manufacture its kits. After Al-Nassr left local sponsor Duneus, the club signed a deal with Nike thanks to CR7, the Swoosh's star testimonial, in a bid to capture an important slice of the booming market. However, logistical problems with the delivery of the jerseys put paid to this relationship: for a long time, fans and supporters of the club were only able to buy their favorite team's jersey in stores.
Al-Nassr has now opted for a contract with adidas that will apply from the 2024/25 season onwards. It represents adidas' ongoing commitment to promoting football in the Kingdom and links the company with a club that has equally lofty goals for the development of the football industry in the country. Indeed, the Saudi league has been a major player with huge commercial potential in recent years, which is why Nike signed one of the leading teams. After Real Madrid and Juventus, adidas will now manufacture the jerseys of Cristiano Ronaldo again.
