The Inter's Curva is featured in Kanye West's 'Vultures'

The fascination of rappers for Italy in the past year has grown enormously. After Drake, even Kanye West has shown a particular interest in the tricolor country, especially when last October he went to the Marassi stadium in Genoa to attend the match between the Rossoblù and Milan. We don't know exactly why Kanye was in Genoa at that time; probably it was simply one of the many stops of the grand Italian tour that entertained him between the summer and autumn of 2023, a period during which rumors spread about a possible concert at Campovolo, in addition to the controversy related to the ban on the use of taxi boats in Venice. The latest news linking Italy to Kanye West, however, concerns two tracks contained in the first volume of Vultures, released just a few days ago. Among the credits of the tracks Stars and Carnival, the name of the Inter's Curva Nord appears: the first closes with an English chorus, while the second - which initially was supposed to be titled Hooligans - opens with a sound very similar to a stadium chant that repeats throughout the song.

In both tracks, alongside the credits of the Inter's Curva Nord, the name of the artist Federico Secondomè is featured, who recorded and produced the chants of one of the hottest sections that can be heard singing in Italian football. Born in 1995, he has been writing and producing songs for various artists for years and collaborating with producers such as Merk & Kremont, SDJM, and Maza, and in 2018 he signed a contract with the label Sugar both as an artist and author. We don't know if the use of the Inter's Curva Nord sampling will represent the beginning of Kanye West's closer involvement with the world of football, but the chances are very high. At the end of October 2023, the rapper from Chicago wore a 2001/2002 Tottenham goalkeeper shirt during the match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou; in December, instead, he opted for a very rare 1996/1997 Portsmouth goalkeeper shirt. In short, Kanye really likes football, and for this reason, it will be interesting to see how and if he manages to interpret it according to his impeccable vision.
