A Formula One weekend in Imola.
We were guests of PUMA to attend one of the most spectacular Grand Prix races of the season
May 21st, 2024
In May, that time of year always arrives when a small town of 60,000 inhabitants in the Emilia-Romagna countryside transforms into the predetermined destination for motorsport fans from all over the world. The Formula 1 Grand Prix in Imola at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit is perhaps one of the most important races of the season, for its history and passion. It is the home of Ferrari, the home of Italian motor enthusiasts, and a city where the walls are painted red like theater backdrops for the spectacle of the race cars. In fact, to this day, all the houses adjacent to the circuit are still inhabited, despite the various offers made by the Autodromo's board of directors to the residents in order to expand and improve the track. We were guests of PUMA to attend the seventh Formula 1 event of the year, the MSC Cruises Italian and Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. PUMA has become the official supplier of Formula 1 this season, a role that they take very seriously by blending their sportswear aesthetic with that of motorsport and the teams.
Before the start of the official race, Sebastian Vettel drove a lap of the circuit in Ayrton Senna's original car, who passed away prematurely at the Imola Grand Prix thirty years ago. This was not the only tribute to one of the greatest drivers in history, who continues to inspire new generations to push their limits. Then it was the real race, one of the most intense of the season thanks to the constant battle for the top three positions between Max Verstappen (1'), Lando Norris (2'), and the beloved driver of the Cavallino Rampante, Charles Leclerc, who, despite only reaching the third step of the podium, drove the Scuderia Ferrari fans wild as they climbed over the gates and invaded the track to cheer his name and that of Ferrari. While we wait to see how this already exciting season will end, scroll through the images in the gallery of the reportage created by nss magazine.
