After the 2021 traveling edition, the European Football Championship returns to be held in one location: Germany. Here, Italy won the 2006 World Cup and will try to defend the European title won in 2021 by beating England in the final. In the group stage, the Azzurri will face Albania, Spain, and Croatia. Three matches of high difficulty that will be played in three different stadiums, each with its own soul and style. Let's discover them.
BVB Stadion - Dortmund
The architectural influence of this stadium has exceeded even the boundaries of football: the new arena of the Los Angeles Clippers will have a section called The Wall, which is a segment made up of 51 uninterrupted rows where it will be mandatory to watch the games standing next to your seat neighbor. The inspiration comes from the famous Die Gelbe Wand (The Yellow Wall), which is the south section of the Westfalenstadion where 25,000 spectators gather for each home game of Borussia Dortmund. More generally, the Westfalenstadion, or BVB Stadion Dortmund as officially labeled by UEFA, is a rectangular stadium with over 80,000 seats, with a unique section for the seats behind the two goals and a two-tier structure for the two central stands. The frame is made even more spectacular by the inclination of these stands, 37 degrees according to official Bundesliga data. It was inaugurated in 1974 and in 50 years of history, it has remained faithful to its beauty despite three different modernization interventions, the last of which in 2003 led to the closure of the four corners as well as the installation of the yellow support pillars for the roof, which have become the element with which the Westfalenstadion is recognized all over the world and associated with Borussia Dortmund.

Arena Auf Schalke - Gelsenkrichen
The city of Gelsenkirchen is famous for its coal mines and legend has it that the original project of the Arena Auf Schalke was modified due to the presence of two coal mines located 800 meters deep. Regardless of this anecdote, the home stadium of Schalke 04 is still considered a jewel of architectural technology today. It was one of the first stadiums in Germany to have a retractable roof, divided into two halves and designed with the sole objective of reducing noise impact. It also has carts that allow the field to be extracted, transforming the stadium into a perfect location for concerts or other events. It was inaugurated in 2001 and since its first day, it has been characterized by the presence of a jumbotron hanging from the ceiling with four screens, one for each stand. All details that have made this stadium with 60,000 seats a model of reference for Germany.

Leipzig Stadium - Leipzig
On the occasion of international tournaments, UEFA commits to erase the traces of naming rights related to club teams. In this case, however, it is difficult to separate the Leipzig stadium from Red Bull and for this reason, most likely everyone will refer to this stadium as Red Bull Arena. The reason is simple, it is the home stadium of Leipzig, the team owned by Red Bull in Germany. It is a stadium with over 45,000 seats, inaugurated in 2004 and specifically designed for football matches. It has a circular structure and the particularity is that it is located slightly below ground level as it was built inside a quarry. It is the same site where the old Leipzig stadium was located, the Zentralstadion, which was a cathedral with over 100,000 seats where the most important sports events of the DDR were held. It was demolished in 2000, but some architectural elements were preserved, specifically the buildings at the entrance of the stadium. The pit was also preserved and this is where the field was placed, with slightly detached and raised stands that increase this "bowl" effect.
