nss sports and Nivelcrack release the "CiaoItalia" jersey
A new chapter of fashion and football is born from the meeting between Italy and South Korea
June 27th, 2024
Between Italy and South Korea, in football terms, there is no love lost. How can we forget that afternoon in June 2002, when one of the biggest sports scandals of all time took place: South Korea 2-1 Italy. A match decided and influenced by the choices of Byron Moreno, a name any Italian finds hard to forget. Years after that match, from Damiano Tommasi's disallowed goal to Francesco Totti's red card for simulation, nss sports decided to make peace with the Korean people by joining forces with an excellent partner: Nivelcrack. The "CiaoItalia" jersey, created by nss sports and the Seoul-based creative studio specializing in the intersection of football and fashion, represents a new chapter of fashion and football. It draws inspiration from the kit worn by the Italian National Team in the 2002 World Cup and is released at a time when the fashion & football connection is already in its 2.0 phase.
But moving on to the actual football, on the field you no longer see slim fit or oversized silhouettes: the fits of the jerseys are increasingly standardized, and commercial sponsors, and especially the players, indulge as best they can, including accessories in their game looks. And so, the fit of the "CiaoItalia" jersey finds its place in everyday outfits, far from its natural habitat: the football pitch. Only those who can have fun with the proportions of their outfits will be able to perfectly match the jersey. Trends change at the speed of light and now is the time for outfits composed of wide pants and slim fit jerseys.
The shooting for the 'CiaoItalia' T-shirt made in collaboration between nss sports and Nivelcrack took place at Leolandia, Capriate San Gervasio. The first family theme park in Italy with over 50 attractions, shows and favourite cartoon characters. A fantasy world that really exists!
