"We are not satisfied until we solve the problems related to all women's sportswear. It is time for sports bras to do more for us." Mari Thomas-Welland, founder of the brand MAAREE, has chosen F.C. Como Women for a partnership that will help the athletes of the club feel more comfortable when they step onto the field or train. The brand is changing the way sports bras are made with the innovative Overband by MAAREE, initially created by sewing second-hand belts onto an existing sports bra. Despite testing products from bigger brands in laboratory conditions, Mari discovered that she, like many other women, had difficulty finding a sports bra that offered the right balance of support, comfort, and style.
Since its foundation, MAAREE has been committed to breaking down barriers that women face in physical exercise and allowing them to lead active and safe lives. This principle also applies perfectly to football, where big brands have not always made an effort to find a solution to a purely female problem. The collaboration with F.C. Como Women goes in this direction, as well as giving visibility to a common need among all female footballers. Elena Mirandola, CEO of F.C. Como Women, is excited to collaborate with MAAREE and says, "Our goal is to provide our professional players with the best tools to increase their confidence on the field and offer complete support off the field. Ensuring that they feel comfortable, safe, and able to give their best is a priority for us."
This partnership marks an important step in MAAREE's journey towards empowering women on and off the pitch, perfectly aligning with F.C. Como Women's mission to promote growth and inclusivity in women's football. "Often we see that women are seen as a fallback compared to men's football, but certainly that won't be the case here!" said Mari. After successfully rebranding, F.C. Como Women continues their mission to elevate women's football to the same level as men's by investing in the well-being of their athletes.
