Discovering the Ferrari Universe
Roma Spider tailor-made, Museo Enzo Ferrari, and much more
October 14th, 2024
On Thursday, October 10, we were guests of Ferrari to discover the universe of Italian automotive excellence: in Maranello lies the essence of the brand, from the Il Cavallino restaurant, signed by Massimo Bottura, to the factories where the cars come to life. We had the opportunity to experience firsthand the historic Redhead factory, concluding the first part of the tour with a glimpse of the Fiorano Modenese track, where it is possible to observe the cars being tested from certain points around the complex. The day ended with a visit to the MEF in Modena, the Museo Enzo Ferrari. At the MEF, we had the opportunity to discover the new version of the Roma Spider created by the Tailor Made department: the car will be on display starting today at the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena as part of the Ferrari One of a Kind exhibition, dedicated to the exclusive world of customizations by the Maranello brand. The distinctive Roma Spider highlights innovative manufacturing techniques, made possible by the use of special and refined materials, including the handcrafted fabric detailing in the central mirror of the seats, where stitching is done manually using the interior leather and applying thread made from recycled tires.
With this vehicle, the Prancing Horse has introduced laser-etching on the aluminum components of the body for the emblem on the front fender, along with the option to customize the hood design with a compass rose and the geographic coordinates of Maranello. Also noteworthy is the collaboration with Montblanc: Ferrari's partner has created a special edition of the iconic Meisterstück writing instrument for the occasion, featuring the same unique Oro Mida color selected by the Maranello Design Center for the Ferrari Roma Spider Tailor Made. This one-of-a-kind item is also enriched with an Au750 solid gold nib, handcrafted and platinum-coated with a special compass pattern, with the cap and fittings also in platinum. Staying true to the travel concept that runs like a red thread throughout the project, the writing instrument is accompanied by a logbook whose cover is made from second-life leather, in the same color scheme found in the interiors of the Ferrari Roma Spider: Rosso Bologna and Metallic Oro Mida Leather.
