Rain, fog, a carpet of typical autumn leaves, and a deafening silence, all contained within 1,000 hectares of natural reserve in the heart of the Tuscan Apennines. This was the Porsche Macan Driving Experience, a special event organized by the German brand to present the new all-electric Porsche Macan. Silent yet powerful, agile off-road yet comfortable. Porsche’s decision to start from a classic multi-level parking lot, in this case in Bologna, and then head to a protected natural reserve was no coincidence. The goal was to demonstrate how versatile the Macan is, adaptable to any type of scenario: from the crowded city streets and highways to the isolated mountain roads and dirt paths needed to reach our final destination, an eco-hotel located at an altitude of 1100 meters in the heart of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
Porsche presents its second fully electric model: the new Macan, with a powertrain of up to 470 kW (639 hp), delivers the so-called Porsche E-Performance on any terrain, while also standing out for its high level of everyday usability. The dynamic characteristics typical of a sports car are combined with high-performance fast charging up to 270 kW and a range of up to 613 km according to the WLTP cycle. Ten years after its debut, the Porsche Macan is moving towards its second generation, now in an all-electric version. Featuring innovative and timeless design, typical Porsche performance, extended range, and great everyday practicality, the new Macan 4 and Macan Turbo aim to fully satisfy the needs of Porsche customers who choose an SUV.
«We are elevating the Macan to an entirely new level, with exceptional E-Performance, the new Driver Experience, and a striking design», said Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, during the world premiere in Singapore. «With the electric Macan, we aim to offer the sportiest model in the segment», commented Jörg Kerner, Vice President responsible for the Macan range.
