Y-3 is the new partner of the Spanish Women's National Team
An unexpected collaboration

Last night, a friendly match took place between the women's national football teams of Italy and Spain, ending in a 1-1 draw with quick-succession goals by Alba Redondo (86th minute) and Juventus player Chiara Beccari (88th minute). Although it wasn’t a highly anticipated game, it turned out to be interesting for several reasons, including the absence of Aitana Bonmatí, who had received the Ballon d'Or less than 24 hours earlier. However, what sparked the most curiosity on this dull Tuesday evening at the end of October was the look sported by La Roja, who had flown in the day before to play at the Romeo Menti Stadium in Vicenza. They showed up in a Y-3 tracksuit complete with a matching travel bag: the third official collaboration in recent months between this adidas sub-label and the football world, created in 2003 with Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto.
No official information has yet been released regarding the partnership, but it may only be a matter of days; it's likely that the Spanish National Team wanted to give a teaser during this away match, with the intention of making the collaboration official at their next international game, scheduled against France on December 3, 2024. It’s also possible that the Spanish women’s national team could receive Y-3-designed match kits, as has already happened with the Japanese men's national team and Real Madrid. This would make it the first women’s national team to wear Y-3 on the field, and expectations couldn’t be higher, given the exceptional quality Yamamoto has brought to football since his debut in the sport.
