Bayern Munich has put its players' jerseys up for sale In the player issue version, but still an interesting choice

It's not very often that a club decides to sell the jerseys made for its players, not the game-worn ones, but the player editions. Instead, Bayern Munich has decided to do just that and is offering authentic jerseys for sale on its website that were originally intended for the players but were never worn on the pitch. These jerseys were produced for squad members who never played or, in some cases, were never called up. In fact, they are long-sleeve game jerseys: Bayern Munich, being a Tier A+ club for adidas, offers its players the option to take the field wearing long-sleeve jerseys, a choice many players from the club, such as Leroy Sané, Serge Gnabry, and Jamal Musiala, opt for. The jerseys being sold by the club are not from the current season, but from the 2023/24 season. However, this still makes it quite unique in the football club scene.

Most likely, these are leftovers from last season, originally intended for the players. In a very original move, Bayern Munich has decided to offer them to their fans, at an extremely affordable price: €80, exactly half the retail price of a long-sleeve authentic jersey signed by the Three Stripes. The jerseys are identical to those worn by the players, and the sizes, instead of the usual S, M, L, XL, XXL, are numerical, ranging up to size 6. It will be interesting to see if Bayern will adopt this strategy again in 2025 and in the following years, potentially opening a new way for fans to own exclusive pieces of the club's kit history. For now, what stands out is a brilliant idea in managing inventory leftovers.
