Nike and PSG launch a cycling collection

Nike and PSG launch a cycling collection Dedicated to the cycling and aesthetic tradition of the 1950s

If football and cycling seem like two very distant sports, it's because often their shared history is not taken into consideration. This is something that Paris Saint-Germain has recognized with their collection "Cycling Refined", which draws inspiration from the aesthetic codes of vintage bicycles in collaboration with Nike. Once again, Paris Saint-Germain has invested in the world of fashion, this time reinterpreting the sporting heritage of the capital. Each piece evokes this unique connection with cycling through a color palette and typography reminiscent of cycling teams from the 1950s. The collection includes both a lifestyle line and a performance line, featuring a cycling jersey with the unmistakable Hechter of PSG. Completing the set are two exclusive Air Max TN models: one in beige and one in black, perfectly in line with the visual universe and color palette of the collection.

To celebrate this launch, Paris Saint-Germain and Française des Jeux orchestrated a unique meeting that brought together Luis Enrique, coach of the first team and avid cycling enthusiast, Stefan Küng and Quentin Pacher, riders from the Groupama-FDJ cycling team, as well as their manager and emblematic figure of French cycling, Marc Madiot. Spanish artist Edgar Plans, who is also a cycling enthusiast and has previously collaborated with the club, added his unique touch by customizing some bikes for this event. As a premium partner of PSG since 2022, the FDJ group took advantage of this opportunity to offer Luis Enrique, a true cycling enthusiast, an immersion into the world of professionals. The meeting was marked by a bike training ride that connected the Parc des Princes, a historic and emblematic symbol of Paris Saint-Germain, to the Paris Saint-Germain Campus.

The collaboration between Paris Saint-Germain and Nike is reminiscent of the one carried out last season by Ajax and adidas, who launched a cycling collection dedicated to the Amsterdam club and its bike culture. Many other sportswear brands from the worlds of football and cycling have also created a bridge between the two sports, with capsule collections that intersected their different aesthetics and paid tribute to their shared history. A time when Inter and Milan were competing for the Pink Jersey of the Giro d'Italia, in addition to the league title.
