The first Panini album dedicated to the Women's Serie A has been released
A historic chapter for women's football and the collectibles sector
February 7th, 2025
There was an exceptional audience for the historic day when the first Panini album dedicated to the Women's Serie A was presented: from FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, who was just re-elected for the 2025-28 term, to the president of the Professional Women's Serie A Division Federica Cappelletti and the Italian market director of Panini, Alex Bertani. Also present were, among others, the head coach of the Women's National Team Andrea Soncin, the team manager of the Men's National Team Gianluigi Buffon, the team manager of the Women's National Team (and head of the women’s sector for AIC) Chiara Marchitelli, and Renzo Ulivieri, president of AIAC, as well as the footballers featured in the first historic album, one from each team. The album consists of 322 stickers to collect in 48 pages, with the cover featuring the ten teams and a representative player for each club: Manuela Giugliano (Roma, the only Italian nominated for the Ballon d'Or), Cristiana Girelli (Juventus), Vero Boquete (Fiorentina), Michela Cambiaghi (Inter), Nadia Nadim (Milan), Eleonora Goldoni (Lazio), Benedetta Orsi (Sassuolo), Eli Del Estal (Como Women), Paola Di Marino (Napoli Femminile), and Cecilia Re (Sampdoria).
"It’s a beautiful day for the entire Italian football movement because it places the football played by women in a different and better perception compared to just six years ago. I thank the Division, President Cappelletti, and Panini for believing in this project" – says FIGC President, Gabriele Gravina –. "Recognizability is a key element for the growth and expansion of any sector, especially when aiming for new reference models. The Federation is investing a lot in this sector, but these investments must go hand in hand with increased visibility, and the agreement with Panini goes in this direction. After all, recognizability is a key element for the growth and expansion of any sector, especially when aiming for new reference models."
"After 64 editions of the men's album, finally having an album dedicated to female footballers is a great emotion" – says the president of the Women's Professional Serie A Division, Federica Cappelletti –. "This is proof that women's football is growing a lot and becoming increasingly important: for all the footballers and also for the collectors, this is a historic turning point. We are entering history, and this fills us with pride: I believed in it from the start, and I’m happy to have reached this milestone thanks to Panini and the staff of the Women's Serie A Division." And it was the presidents Gravina and Cappelletti, the latter being the wife of one of the most famous footballers in Italian football history, featured in the Panini Calciatori album, Paolo Rossi, who symbolically stuck the first sticker in the history of the Panini Calciatrici collection during the presentation.
On the occasion of the 18th round of the Women's Serie A on Sunday, February 9, and the semifinals of the Women's Coppa Italia, Panini Calciatrici 2024-2025 will be promoted at all the stadiums. The album will be distributed for free to the public at the stadiums hosting the matches, with all the girls accompanying the footballers also entering the field with the album. The captains will also exchange the large stickers with their respective logos before the start of the matches.
