The new Champions League balls are a masterpiece They are inspired by the tradition of Lisbon and Munich

On Tuesday, February 11, and Wednesday, February 12, the first play-offs in the history of the Champions League will take place, a knockout phase that, before the introduction of the new format, we had never seen before. A sense of revolution that, after the first 8 games which led to the creation of an unprecedented 36-team ranking, has deeply divided football fans. Some strongly prefer the original format, while others have expressed their appreciation for this entirely new system. What is certain is that, riding the wave of this enthusiasm, UEFA, together with technical partner adidas, could not have done otherwise than release two incredible balls for the knockout phase of both the men’s and women’s tournaments, dedicated to the two host cities, namely Lisbon and Munich.

The ball dedicated to the UEFA Champions League, scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Munich, pays tribute to the city with a design inspired by the characteristic copper-clad domes and the stunning Bavarian nature. The one created for the Women's Champions League, on the other hand, celebrates the unmistakable architecture of the Portuguese city. It features a white and blue design inspired by azulejos, a typical ornament of Portuguese architecture, a recurring inspiration on some of the past National Team shirts as well.

Both versions are available on the adidas website.
