The first Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton is here
Will the SF-25 be the right machine to win the eighth F1 world title?
February 19th, 2025
The anticipation was high last night in London, before the exclusive event F175 where Ferrari presented their new racecar SF-25 that will be driven by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in the upcoming season. The scenic O2 Arena was the stage for unveiling the liveries of the 10 teams in the race, including the highly anticipated Rossa del Cavallino in the presence of key figures such as CEO Benedetto Vigna, Team Principal Fred Vasseur, drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, and representatives of technical and commercial partners. An evening that marked the beginning of a new era for the team, with the long-awaited debut of the SF-25 today at Fiorano for its first shakedown.
The new SF-25 livery
The livery of the new SF-25 was the focus of anticipation, with its innovative color scheme, darker than the ones used in recent years, a perfect mix of past, present and future with a matte finish that pays homage to the legendary years of the Scuderia. The presence of a white stripe along the body of the car emphasizes its dynamism and forward-looking attitude. Every detail is carefully designed to tell the story and evolution of Ferrari, from the finishes to the touches of glossy red and white, paying tribute to the refined and tailor-made design that has always characterized the Maranello brand. Additionally, the choice of entirely red rims and white driver numbers, as well as the reference to the 499P Hypercar, competing in the World Endurance Championship and sharing some stylistic traits with the SF-25, highlight the common Ferrari DNA. The SF-25 continues the evolutionary philosophy of the team.
The name of the racecar, in fact, maintains a connection with the previous season (SF-23), highlighting the regulatory continuity that has characterized the recent period in Formula 1. However, beyond this aspect, the new Ferrari is a completely renewed machine from every point of view, the result of the relentless work of technicians led by Loic Serra. One of the most significant changes concerns the front suspension, which abandons the push rod system to adopt a new pull rod configuration. This change is part of a strategy aimed at optimizing the aerodynamic flow, a fundamental aspect in a championship that promises to be extremely balanced, where even the smallest details can make a difference.
The Ferrari Style look
Of course, the stars of the evening, in addition to the SF-25, were the two Ferrari drivers: Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Dressed in Ferrari Style attire, they opted for two minimal but extremely elegant looks as the occasion demanded, with sartorial details and accents highlighting the Ferrari DNA. Hamilton wore a zippered jacket topped with an all-black coat, a white shirt, and a slim red tie, while Leclerc chose a double-breasted suit embellished with a horse pin and a regimental tie also in red. A confirmation of how the new Ferrari wants to set the trend both on the track with the new SF-25 and in lifestyle, thanks to Creative Director of Ferrari Style Rocco Iannone. And the arrival of Lewis Hamilton, the most influential driver in the paddock for elegance and creativity, can only push in this direction even more.
After its debut on the track at Fiorano, scheduled for tomorrow, the car will immediately head to Bahrain, where it will face its only pre-season test from February 26 to 28. A crucial opportunity to refine the final details before the official start of the season, with the first Grand Prix scheduled in Australia on March 16. Ferrari is ready to write a new chapter in its long and glorious history in Formula 1, with a car that has all the potential to be a protagonist.
