For Umbro, St. Patrick's Day is an important date
The brand introduces two new shirts full of details
March 4th, 2025
The culture of Umbro has always been closely linked to Irish football, which is why, with this new collection, the brand not only pays tribute to the past but also draws inspiration from the country's long history and its creative energy. Umbro releases a special project for St. Patrick's Day: two shirts, one green and one blue, both rich in extraordinary details. One version features the unmistakable colors of the Irish flag, while the other is dyed blue, the original shade of St. Patrick's cloak. Each design is enriched with a print representing the Triskelion, the famous Celtic knot. The intertwined arches play with an effect that seems to stretch infinitely, just like the passion of Irish fans, which unites generations and transcends geographical boundaries. Just as football brings people together, the Celtic knot symbolizes the connection between history, culture, and identity, creating something indissoluble. Finally, the shirts are adorned with detailed shield-shaped crests, combining the emblem of St. Patrick and the shamrock.
The launch of the shirts will be supported by a campaign celebrating the Irish people: directed by Mark William Logan and produced by CLTV.Film, based in Dublin, the campaign features four Irish people, including Rónán O' Snodaigh (Kíla), the Jimi Hendrix of the bodhrán, the typical Irish drum; Leah Hayden Cassidy, a former footballer who became one of the most beloved hairstylists of rock stars, now based in London but deeply connected to her roots; EFÉ, a musical pioneer who recently signed with Fader Records in the U.S. and is redefining what it means to be Irish today; and finally Phil Halton, a skater, activist, and founder of Goblin Magazine, who co-created and built a skate park for children on the remote island of Innis Oírr, showing how sports and culture thrive everywhere.
