Running in the woods with adidas Terrax and GORE-TEX

Running has never been as cool as it has been in recent months. And not just because of the ever-increasing number of running clubs, influencers who explain how a marathon is ultimately a health walk, brands that enter the market pushing increasingly niche and demanding niches for various types of running, but because of a global phenomenon that combines mental and physical health with training, and communities with style. It is precisely in this almost unique intersection that trail running is located, the most free and ancestral version of running, which has become not only a sport that is increasingly followed and practiced, but a true lifestyle. And like any lifestyle, it must respect well-defined rules, customs, and practices. To discover them, we went to a natural oasis a few kilometers from Milan to try out the new adidas TERREX AGRAVIC GTX with GORE-TEX.

The newest addition to the adidas running family is a shoe suitable for all terrains, but especially for any condition thanks to its GORE-TEX membrane, which keeps the foot dry even when crossing a stream or caught in an unexpected storm. We can confirm this as we found ourselves in both situations during our test run with the adidas TERREX AGRAVIC GTX, trying to keep up with the pace of athlete Sven Koch through the hills around Oasi Galbusera. We failed the mission, of course, but not without appreciating the qualities of the shoe, which held up without any problems on the rough terrain and adverse weather conditions, which paradoxically were perfect for testing them. The shoe introduces GORE-TEX Invisible Fit technology, integrated into sports shoes designed for outdoor activities such as trail running or regular running, which offers long-lasting waterproof protection, reliable breathability, and a barrier against wind.

Invisible on the outside thanks to the laminated structure welded directly to the upper, this innovative technology allows for an 18% reduction in shoe weight without losing efficiency and performance. And GORE-TEX means above all a product that has been tested with the utmost care and through a holistic process that has pushed adidas to further improve its product to meet the needs of runners. So here we are, running through the woods, with a look that would now also be suitable for ordering a specialty coffee in a Milanese bar, but here it is back to its main purpose, rediscovering, even if only for a day, our relationship with nature.
