Nike is set to release the Mercurial inspired by the Air Max 95 Neon
After the release of the TN in its football version, it's time for another masterpiece from the Air Max line
April 7th, 2025
Amid leaks and rumors, it had been talked about for some time, but on the evening of April 6th, confirmation arrived that Nike will release the Mercurial inspired by the Air Max 95 Neon. The news comes about a week after the release of the re-issue of the Air Max 95 Neon OG Big Bubble, and so, at this moment, all that’s left is to wait to see them worn on the field, undoubtedly on the feet of Kylian Mbappé, the protagonist of the launch campaign, but probably also on the feet of Vinicius Jr. For the first time in 2025, but the second time in the 2024/25 biennium, Nike transforms a sneaker into a football boot: it happened in early January 2024 with the release of the Mercurial inspired by the Air Max Plus, first in the Voltage Purple colorway, then in the Sunset colorway, always with Kylian Mbappé as the protagonist.
The football version of the Air Max 95 Neon, released just on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of one of the most iconic models in Nike history and the Air Max line, takes every precise detail from the lifestyle version, including the mesh upper, the Air Zoom unit, and faithfully replicates every single shade of gray that makes up the sneaker’s upper. If the Air Zoom Mercurial came with a special box, including a double version containing both the sneaker and the football boot, we can expect the same for this release.
