The collaboration between Barcelona and Spotify is undoubtedly one of the most interesting in terms of co-branding between a football club and its commercial sponsor: in recent years, the two parties have been experimenting with creative ways to engage with the audience. However, this time we’re not talking about the match shirts created in collaboration with international artists such as Drake, Rosalía, Karol G, Coldplay, Rolling Stones, and the upcoming one with Taylor Swift, but rather the playlists that Spotify creates for their football players. To date, this initiative has been carried out with Jules Koundé, Lamine Yamal, and many other Barcelona players, with the latter being the most recent to have his own playlist released.

Morad, Karol G, Bad Bunny and Rosalía are the names that appear most frequently in Lamine Yamal's playlist. In conjunction with the release of the playlist on the Barcelona club's Spotify profile, the young talent said: “I like being the DJ of the team because the feeling that good music gives you before a match can push you to win,” said Yamal. “Listening to my playlist on Spotify will feel like sitting next to the guys in the locker room before a match.” The songs in the playlist are indeed the same ones that the Barcelona team listens to in the locker room or in the tunnel leading to the locker room, where Lamine Yamal usually takes charge of a large speaker and monopolizes the atmosphere with the team by playing his favorite tracks.

Before Yamal, Koundé had also shared his playlist, which was quite different in terms of artists and genres, including Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Nemzzz.
