NBA #SocialGames 2017
The European trip of the Association seen through social network's unique viewpoint
January 12th, 2017
On every European NBA enthusiast’s calendar, January 12th is circled in red. If you don’t know why, that’s probably because you’re not part of this modest but relentless circle of US basketball’s fanatics, which maybe doesn't know it’s girlfriend birthday, but surely remember the date of NBA Global Games. This year, for the sixth time in a row, Europe will host a regular season game at the O2 Arena in London. It is of course an unique opportunity for fans and authorized personnel to watch NBA athletes without going overseas. Sure, also this year we won’t see championship contender teams, but Indiana Pacers and Denver Nuggets are both fascinating franchises under many points of view.
It’s a great chance also for players, whom may be used to travel with and without the team, but have the chance to radically change the scenario. And in fact, social networks told us a very scholar side of the two franchises, like a high school class during a road trip. So we decided to gather all the best from Nuggets and Pacers’s social networks, between selfies with the Big Ben, gala nights and an interesting mashup with football (or soccer for our US friends).
Indiana Pacers
Inspired by suggestive locations of the English capital, Glenn Robinson and his teammates activated the 007 mode.
Every day is a good day to show off some legend from the past. In this case is Dikembe Mutombo himself.
As good tourist, they couldn’t avoid a selfie in front of the Big Ben.
And a Snapchat in front of the Big Ben.
If you travel around London without a custom bus, you’re no one.
Denver Nuggets
Malik Beasley’s to-do-list: “Own the Big Ben”, check.
Danilo Gallinari’s to-do-list: “Aways be the coolest guy of the pack”, also check.
Soccer mashup, Arsenal hosted the Nuggets at the Emirates Stadium. Ordinance Snapchat.
As a present, an Arsenal shirt for every Nuggets’ player.
And of course, the team photo in front of the Big Ben. As suggested, almost 5 thousand miles away from Denver!
