PUMA kits for european national teams
The german brand has chosen a uniform template for federation shirts
March 28th, 2024
After the jersey releases for the national teams of adidas and Nike, PUMA also launched today the Home and Away kits of the European Federations sponsored by the German brand. Compared to its direct competitors, PUMA has chosen to use a single template for the various jerseys, thus standardising the aesthetic profiles and maintaining a consistent style across the various designs. A choice that goes against the trend compared to what has been seen so far for the jerseys of the National teams, but which pursues PUMA's philosophy of creating a bespoke design that enhances the technical qualities of the brand's patented fabrics, ULTRAWEAVE technology for the Authentic version and RE:FIBRE recycling technology for the replica version.
Austria
The Austrian national team's Home kit features a red base that enhances the weave inspired by Jugendstil architectural beauty, combining bespoke graphics and fine detailing. The white Away kit, adorned with bright blue accents, reflects the nation's affinity with nature and exploration.
Czech Republic
The Czech Republic Home kit incorporates the colours of the national team along with an abstract print created by the double-tailed lion emblem, bringing a modern twist to this traditional symbol. The white Away kit pays tribute to the relentless determination of the Czech Republic's 2004 class with a classic design featuring repeated emblems of the double-tailed lion as a proud reminder of the team's spirit.
Iceland
Albert Gudmundsson's team failed to qualify for Euro2024. This is a pity because the blue Home jersey inspired by the breathtaking glaciers that cover 11% of the country is perhaps the best of the lot. Iceland's Away kit, on the other hand, with an ash grey base illuminated by fiery accents, embodies the energy of Iceland's volcanic landscape, creating the interplay between nature and Icelandic culture.
Switzerland
It's hard to imagine the Swiss national team in any colour other than the red of its flag, and PUMA's Home kit doesn't stray far from the heritage with edelweiss graphics inspired by traditional Swiss clothing. The Away kit, meanwhile, is inspired by the iconic Jungfraujoch railway station in the Swiss Alps, capturing the harmonious blend of natural beauty and engineering excellence that defines Switzerland.
Serbia
The Serbia 2024 Home kit features graphics created through an X-ray view of an eagle's wing, symbolising both the team's courage on the pitch and the Balkan nation's historic heritage. The Away kit, with a white base and blue accents, celebrates Serbia's natural and cultural landscape, with knitted sleeve cuffs inspired by the mystical rock formation Đavolja Varoš (Devil's City) on Mount Radan in southern Serbia.
