Jordan x KAWS capsule collection

Jordan is in a very busy moment and - after announcing among other things the partnership with UNC’s football team - it prepares to launch a new capsule collection in collaboration with KAWS, pseudonym for Brian Donnelly, US’ artist who shares with MJ the Brooklynian heritage.

Besides being from the same part of the Big Apple, Jordan and KAWS also share a very similar story. They both had to prove themselves with drive and sacrifices, after being initially cut off and underestimated. Every His Airness’ hardcore fans surely know that Jordan was cut from Laney High School’s varsity team when it was time to advance from the junior team. This has always been a motivation for Jordan, which led him to be the legend we all know today. At the same way, also KAWS had to build himself a reputation, working in the New York area, before becoming the artist we know, with solo shows at prestigious galleries and museums. The Jordan x KAWS capsule collection celebrates that behind every game-changer lies the desire to master one’s craft.

The highlights of this collaboration are the Air Jordan IV x KAWS, made with an experimental mixing of materials, like the suede. The gray coloration, glow-in-the-dark outsole, and “XX” brand are all clear signs of KAWS participation in this partnership with Jordan. The capsule, which also has a series of brand-related garments, will be available on March 28th in Greater China, and the 31 in the rest of the world.
