adidas presented this morning a remake of one of the most beloved boots of all time: the Predator Precision. The Predator line is the most iconic boots' collection of the German brand, designed by the former Australian footballer Craig Johnston in 1994 they became an icon of style for football lovers. The Precision edition was launched in conjunction with Euro 2000 and worn by David Trezeguet, Patrick Kluivert and mostly by the Spice Boy David Beckham, that remains the main testimonial of the campaign.

The 2017 edition stays faithful to the original one: both the stripes and rubber elements are stitched on, with a colorway blue colorway. Even from the technical point of view, the boots are not that different from the original version: the rubbers for a better grip on the ball are still there, as well as the iconic red and long tongue that covers the laces.

The main difference is the soleplate, taken from the ACE 17 to ensure the Predator Precision is lightweight enough to be declared match fit. adidas decided also to make an indoor edition of the boots and street one, both very similar to the original one with an obvious difference: in the street edition has an energizing boost cushioning and a durable Continental rubber outsole.

After the re-edition of the Predator Mania Champagne in May this year, adidas wants to rediscover its golden years with the reboot of old models. The original Predator Precision was a game-changer in the boots market, worn by the most commercial player of all time, David Beckham. A fun fact about the boots is that they actually reached their hype of popularity in 2002 - so after the launch in the Euro competition - thanks to the Spice boy. In fact, during the last game for the World Cup qualification between England and Greece, Beckham - who was still wearing the boots - scored an amazing free kick that allowed England to qualify for World Cup and to adidas to have the most iconic real world commercial for a pair of boots.

The new Predator Precision will be available exclusively in the adidas Paris Football store from September 5th and in limited numbers at selected retailers from September 8th.
