Real Madrid is about to earn 1.1 billion euros
A new contract with adidas could soon be signed
November 5th, 2018
If there is a team that has dominated in Europe in recent years, this is Real Madrid, the Blancos have placed a three-peat in the Champions League without precedent. There is a though, the goodbye of Zinedine Zidane first and Cristiano Ronaldo then created a super massive black hole that has engulfed the game of Real first and then his new and former coach, Julen Lopetegui. At the moment, Real is sixth with 5 games won 2 draws and 4 losses and already seven points behind Barcelona. But what is most impressive is the terrifying involution in the approach to the games, it seems that the Monstars are back on Earth this time to steal the talent from the most emblazoned team in the world.
However, this does not seem to have prevented Florentino Perez from closing a new agreement with the current technical sponsor, Adidas, worth 1.1 billion euros for 10 years. According to what Carlos Carpio writes on Marca, the German company will pay the Blancos 110 million euros each year, which is equivalent to more than double the 52 million paid today. We must specify that this is only the guaranteed amount, in fact Adidas could potentially pay up to 150 million euros a year taking into account "the variable parts depending on the merchandising".
"To put this in perspective, and compare it with Nike in the NBA, who kit out all the 21 teams for $1 billion over eight years. In other words $125 million, or €110 million a season for 21 teams which is the same that Adidas will pay for just Real Madrid."
The new sponsorship agreement will help the club fund not only the renewal of the Santiago Bernabeu, € 575 million, but also the incoming market. Yes, because despite the fact that Real never had problems in this sense if we stop to reflect, the last purchase "galactico" was James Rodriguez in 2014.
We will see if this agreement is confirmed, we will keep you updated.
