In Christmas there will be the Prada Christmas Race
The first act before the America's Cup 2021
November 27th, 2020
Before the start of the America's Cup in Auckland in March 2021, the Prada Christmas Race will take place from 17 to 20 December: it will be a sailing competition that will anticipate the Prada Cup, scheduled for January 2021. The regatta will see as a challenger the participation of the Italian team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, INEOS TEAM UK of the New York Yacht Club American Magic and the defender Emirates Team New Zealand, who will compete for four days at Waitemata Harbour de in the Gulf of Hauraki, the latter known as the 'Jewel of the Auckland Crown'. It will also be an opportunity to see the final hulls of each team, each ready with different news.
The America's Cup is back in Auckland after seventeen years - the last time was in 2003 - and, as mentioned, it will be preceded by the Prada Cup, the knockout stage to decide the final challenger that will challenge the defender Emirates Team New Zealand. Meanwhile, both Prada - which sponsors the Italian team and the Prada Cup - and North Sails - a brand born for sailing outfits - have released respectively the official merchandising of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team and the collection for the March competition. The America's Cup is a historic event - the first race in 1851 - that over the decades has created its own aesthetic. The main sponsor Prada produces collections every year only for the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team and are items with an important heritage, which have become authentic luxury items - for price, but also for prestige. The return of the America's Cup after four years is also the return of a certain type of sports outfit, where elegance and technology, comfort and athleticism meet each other.
