Roger Federer's UNIQLO outfit for the Doha tournament

Roger Federer's UNIQLO outfit for the Doha tournament To celebrate the return of the Swiss champion to the tennis court

From March 8-13 Roger Federer will return to play an ATP tournament in Doha, at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, after more than a year's absence (the last time was at the 2020 Australian Open). For the Swiss tennis player's next engagement, UNIQLO presented the garments that will dress the athlete during the competitions: a collection dedicated to celebrate the return to the tennis courts of the third most successful tennis player in the history of the sport (considering the Grand Slams, after Djokovic and Nadal).

UNIQLO has designed two caps and two jerseys for Federer, which will also be paired with shorts. The two uniforms are one green and one white, as well as the two caps. The white model has green trim on the V-collar (with studs) and on the edges of the sleeves, while the green is total green and changes only the color tone for the end of the sleeves. The Uniqlo logo appears on the left on both the sleeve and chest. Absent on the suit the initials of the tennis player (RF) who usually appeared in the other editions, but are imprinted large in the center of the cap with visor.

Federer's contract with Nike expired in March 2018 and the Swiss tennis player had moved to Uniqlo, a Japanese company that has opened many stores in Europe (including one in Milan). He made his debut with the new brand in the 2019 edition of Wimbledon while continuing to wear Nike shoes. In tennis UNIQLO is very active with contracts of the highest level such as those with Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori.
