The most beautiful jersey in the world returns to the tradition of the Republic of Genoa
July 11th, 2022
Sampdoria unveiled today the new three jerseys with which it will take the field during the upcoming season, for the third consecutive time together with Macron. The Bologna-based company made the home jersey, voted as the most beautiful in the world, staying true to tradition, with the traditional royal blue blucerchiata tunic crossed with four horizontal bands white, red, black and white again, in the center of the jersey and also present on the back. The V-neck is made of knitwear with blucerchian details and the backneck is personalized with the colors of the jersey and the writing in Genoese dialect Pe Zêna e Pe Sàn Zòrzo (For Genoa and for St. George), the motto of the Republic of Genoa. Further detail that embellishes the jersey is the inscription, in thickened tone-on-tone print, Genova 12 agosto 1946 inserted in the outer back neck. On the chest, on the right, in white and silicone print is the Macron logo while on the left is the U.C. Sampdoria crest.
White was always chosen for the Away jersey, with a crew-neck model with blucerchian borders also on the sleeve cuffs while in the middle of the chest the blucerchian band in emboss technique features the patch with the shield of St. George in the center. The backneck is personalized with a label that recalls the color of the jersey, the blucerchiata band and the words Pe Zêna e Pe Sàn Zòrzo. The third jersey, on the other hand, is amber in color and features a knitted mandarin collar, with a blucerchi band at chest height and with the shield of St. George in the center of the band. The back neck in thick rubberized print features the profile of Baciccia, a typical Genoese fisherman with a beard, distinctive cap and pipe.
